Amazon.com Product Description Keep your sports training focused with the stylish Timex T5E261 Ironman Triathlon multi-function, performance sport digital watch, which features a silver resin top ring and top pusher for easy access to split and lap times. Sport timing features include a 100-hour chronograph with lap or split option, 100-lap memory recall, 199 lap counter, on-the-fly recall of lap or split, and interval timers settable up to 24 hours (9 timers with countdown/stop and countdown/repeat). The training log stores workouts by date, with best lap, average lap, and total segment time, and the total run format/synchro timer maintains total activity time (less time paused during workout and overall running time. Other features include two time zones, built-in setting reminders, water resistance to 100 meters, and a black fast-wrap strap. It incorporates the Timex Flix system, which activates the Indiglo night-light with a simple flick of your wrist. To activate FLIX, put the watch into Night-Mode by pressing and holding the Indiglo night-light button 3 seconds until it beeps. With the watch in Night-Mode, a forward "flick" of the wrist with a sharp "stop" will activate the Indiglo night-light for three seconds. The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function.

Replacement Watch - A difficult Decision.... January 16, 2007 Gerard M. Ford (North Massapequa, New York United States) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I needed to replace another Timex Ironman 100 lap watch I had purchased a few years back (the rubber frame that holds the strap broke). Really liked this watch because of the large readout, ease of use, lap calculation. I'm a Marathoner and novice Triathlete, so a good, simple, versatile watch is an important piece of equipment for me. After looking for over a month, I decided to purchase the Timex Triathlon 100 Lap Flix System Watch, and I'm glad I did. Great readout, easy button control (start and split are much more pronounced - great improvement) and a very sturdy velcro strap makes this a winner for me. I've already used the timer function with alarm for my swim and bike intervals, and of course the chrono function with splits is easy to read and use. This is a great watch!
Hard to beat for the serious athlete June 7, 2008 Baz (Manchester, England) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
As a runner, the one major feature that drew me to this watch more than anything else is the size of the digital display. I want something that I can see at arms length rather than having to lift the watch up to my face. And this is the only watch I've been able to find that has a decent size digital display in the middle of the face rather than at the bottom, as in most digitals, where the day/date/month share equal billing. With the T5E261 the day/date/month are nicely proportioned at the bottom of the face. When I'm running headlong into wind and rain I want to see the chrono. The last thing I want to know is what day of the week it is...
I've owned many Timex watches over the years, and have never had one break. They offer the most bang for buck and the best designs, IMHO. This is a reasonably priced sports watch that looks great and has more features than you could ever want including 5 alarms (daily, weekday, weekend, day of the week for each alarm setting), 100 hour chrono with lap/split, 100 lap memory recalls, countdown timer, multiple workout storage, 9 interval timers, one top pusher for lap/split recording, night mode feature (useful if you run during the dark winter nights), Indiglo night-light, nice black velcro fast strap and FLIX for hands free night light operation (though it does need quite a violent flick of the wrist to make it work, but maybe I've not got the hang of it yet)
A great watch that I'm expecting to last many years through all weathers and many runs.
Just one teeny disappointment was the colour of the face which appears white or light gray in the picture and looks cool, but is actually the usual pale green/grey.
UPDATE: The above review is from Amazon.co.uk which I posted last August. The watch is still going strong - and the band still looks and feels good after soaking up months of perspiration - as it's fabric I just wash it in plain cold water when necessary.
Great Product August 31, 2007 T. Clifford (Philadelphia PA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I love this watch. I've had several Timex Iron Man or Triathonlon watches and I like the fact that Timex keeps all of the controls and adjustments consistent. It's got five alarms that you can keep set all the time. No more changing the alarm for the next time. This is especially important to me inasmuch as I take medicine 4 times a day and I have a mind like a sieve. Makes things much easier than having to change alarm time several times during the day. It has the ability to set two separate time zones which is especially important for someone who travels alot
Great watch! December 5, 2007 da man (DC) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Just bought a second one after battery went dead after 2 years. Hand many, many Timex and Casio watches over the years and this one is my favorite with just the right combination of features: waterproof, multiple alarms, countdown timers with multiple intervals (great for interval training like run really fast for 3 minutes, slow down for 1), and easy switch between timezones with the alarms switching with you.
And I really like the velcro band (even though I didn't think I would) - easy for small much more custom fit and it held up well with exercise - including a marathon. Sure, it's a tight fit through the whole, but that keeps it from slipping off as you loosen it.
Indigo lighting is nice, but doesn't work so well at twilight - much better when it's really dark.

This watch has the largest size display of any watch I have seen, which I need for jogging without my glasses. The paint wears off, and when the strap fails, forget about repair and buy a new watch.
But I like the velcro instead of resin, and it is cheap enough that I don't fret about replacing it with a new one.
Given the price of good running shoes, wick-away clothing, socks, etc. I don't think anyone can complain about the price/performance of this watch.
