Nice Casual Watch September 13, 2009 V. Wright (Texas) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this watch to have a low cost, yet good looking watch to wear outdoors or just as a casual watch. I own several watches that I don't want to get dirty, wet, or scratched.
I have stayed away from Timex for a while after a bad experience several years back. However, I am very happy with this watch. Comfortable band - that fits small to large wrists (some of the lower costs watches sometimes cut the band length). This Expedition has good color, but doesn't stand out like a sore thumb.
The night light button, is very easy to use and is a nice feature if you want a clear time reading in the dark. The indigo button is easy to find and push in the dark.
I have worn this watch a lot since I purchases it - and I am very happy with my choice. If your looking for a nice casual low cost watch, I would recommend this Timex.
Outstanding functionality & value....plus lightweight and comfortable March 8, 2009 Guy Mccool (Thousand Oaks, CA USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This watch is everything I expected and more. The functions are more than adequate. The visibility is xlnt since I don't wear glasses when I walk/jog....and I can still see the CHRONO values easily. The velcro strap provides for very quick ON and OFF and unlike a band with holes...this band can be "fine tuned" for maximum comfort....so it doesn't jiggle or feel too tight. The watch is very lightweight and comfortable.
The 4 function buttons are very well designed....low profile and rounded on the edges.....so "snags" are never a problem. The functions are so well designed and intuitive that I didn't even need to read the manual. Aesthetics are very nice also.
I love this watch and if I ever lost it and had to replace it for double the Amazon price....I'd do it in a heartbeat. Five stars for Timex. Five stars for Amazon.
Not really a fast wrap like the old ones July 21, 2008 Joe Tech 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Just like a Timex Triathlon, except the "fast wrap" isn't the same, it has a velcro piece but the watch itself is still held on the band by a separate layer of elastic strap, instead of being an integral part of the strap. It wiggles more and gets caught on things more than the old style, but is still OK.
Also, if you change to the stopwatch and use it, the next time you click on the "mode" button it brings you directly back to the time, instead of cycling through the timer, alarms, etc. I don't remember my old one's doing that, but I like this.
Replaced an old, scratched, ugly Expedition May 27, 2010 R. J. Benson (Lansing, MI) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It was probably on the web site that made jewelry boxes for men where I read that the average man buys a watch every 10 months. I had been doing my part to keep the "don't buy many watches" part of the bell curve anchored. My most recent watch purchase was two years ago and prior to that 20 years ago. I have a couple of nice watches I wear when a suit and tie are required and a couple of what I call "camping" watches [some given to me]. My camping Timex was old, ugly [it was brown; I don't wear brown, why did I buy brown?], scratched and if the Indiglo feature hadn't given up the ghost, I'd probably consider keeping it a bit longer. When the display indicated that it needed a new battery, I went shopping just to see what was out there and found this. The old one had a leather strap that wasn't all that comfortable when it got warm. I liked the option of a velcro strap and the weekday and weekend alarms on this one. It's a bit larger than I had expected [I did see the measurements], but it has the features I want and the price made it real easy to add it to my cart and bring it home. I wear it on my R hand, so the velcro strap tab doesn't lay completely flat and sometimes catches against my pocket when I bring my arm forward, but that is the only thing close to a negative I can report.
Great Watch September 22, 2009 M. Jennings (FSM, Ark) Easy to set-up and navigate the features. The Indiglo at night time makes it a great watch for camping and being out at the lake. You will like having the velcro wristband.
